The Finest Event View in New York

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

In terms of jaw-dropping views of New York, no event space compares to Ellis Island.  You look onto the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline while sitting on the Hudson River.  It is also incredible to watch the views change as the sun drops over the horizon and the NYC’s bright lights come on.  Take a look at one of our events from this summer.

The Power of “Massing” a Single Item

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Sometimes design items actually clutter a beautiful space.  Instead of flowers or design elements around the perimeter, my team stuck 800+ votives to the bricks of this courtyard used for a truly intimate ceremony.  Consistent spacing was key here for the effect.   To keep the clean look, I slip-covered benches instead of using chairs.

When life gives you lemons……

Monday, October 19th, 2009

We used fresh lemons from the bride’s property to serve Lemon and Thyme Vodka cocktails upon guest arrival.   Stimulate all of your guests senses with the smell of freshly pressed citrus.

Mirror Box

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Many venues have a regulation requiring all candles to be enclosed.   This “no open flame” rule can make it challenging to integrate candles in an aesthetic manner.  A solution I created is the “Mirror Box”.  It is rectangular-shaped box made of mirrored-plexiglass.  When tea lights are lit inside, they reflect off all sides of the box and create the illusion of hundreds of candles.   When the box first appeared on the pilot of Wedded to Perfection, we were inundated with calls and emails asking where to purchase them.

We have ordered them in quantity and we will have them for sale soon.  If you are interested, email us (event@feteny.com) for more information.

Pop Art Wedding

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

I wanted to share photos from our wedding featured on the Oct. 2nd episode of Wedded to Perfection.  The pop art “escort card” wall and two bars were an extension of the couple’s Save-the-Date, which was a mini-comic book narrating the couple’s love story.
