Wanted to share a nice magazine feature on Fete in the latest edition of New American Luxury. The magazine is written by and for luxury industry professionals, providing an industry-specific look at designers, products and professionals at the top of their field. The Jan/Feb/March issue is on the news stand now but we’ve included a sneak peak below.

Amalfi Coasting

January 3rd, 2012  Posted in Events  No Comments »

This summer we had the great honor of planning and designing a truly incredible 4-day event along the Amalfi Coast. Our challenge – creating 4 very unique days, each one different and more mind-blowing than the next. And of course, event design is never easy when access to each venue is a long, narrow walking street up a steep hill! Our home base was Ravello, one of the most beautiful towns in the word. It sits a kilometer above the Mediterranean Sea with each view more spectacular than the next. If you haven’t been there, book now for next summer!

Here are a few of my favorite photos.

These tremendous photos are courtesy of Brian Dorsey.

A Sincere “Thank you!” to BizBash Voters

October 13th, 2011  Posted in Events  No Comments »

I’d like to express some gratitude to all who’ve voted for me in the “Event Designer of the Year” category on BizBash.com. Since the nominations were announced, Fête has received many well-wishes, pledges of daily voting (Yes, you can vote once a day!), and enthusiasm from the event community at large. Needless to say, we’re honored by the recognition.

Voting closes this Sunday night, and we’re hoping our friends and families will make another visit to BizBash.com to lend your support. (Here’s the site: http://www.bizbash.com/nyvotes.) Just scroll down, click “Jung Lee” in the column to the left of my picture, and hit “Vote.” Easy.

I’ll even throw in a free event for anyone who votes for me! (Just kidding… Unfortunately, that’s impossible. But I’d love your support, all the same.)

Thanks for the support!

You’re the Top

It’s not very “me” to plunk a generic cake topper at the center of a beautiful wedding cake. I much prefer to create an effect that speaks to the specific people taking their vows. But a customized wedding cake topper? While not for everyone, the right one can give a nod to tradition while being thoroughly unique… and that’s exactly what Fête is all about.

Recently, we commissioned cake master Sylvia Weinstock—a legend in the industry and a true artist—to create the ultimate wedding topper for a couple with two kids and a sweet dog. Not only does Sylvia’s topper look exactly like them, she incorporated the whole family (two- and four-legged members, alike).

The couple can now keep their one-of-a-kind cake topper forever, in a clear shadowbox, with photos from the wedding. It’s a great reminder that the world is sweet, and this family is literally on top of it.

We Must Confess

A holy hit at a beautiful wedding.

Tell All

Recently, Fête had the pleasure of designing a wedding for a lovely couple who happens to be Catholic. In the spirit of fun, and as a manner of inspiring memorable video messages for our cheeky newlyweds, we created a bona fide confession booth where guests could “confess their sins.”

A simple enough structure—printed vinyl fabric draped over metal frames, amplified by some dramatic lighting—revelers popped in to wish the happy couple well… and perhaps tell a few sinful stories. Needless to say, guests were lined up throughout the evening, and the tales became saucier as the night went on.

When all was said and done, our expert videographer interspersed these confessions with footage from the dance floor. Now, the couple can look back on hilarious and heartfelt messages, told in a way that means something to them.

The fewer sacred cows to show up at your wedding ceremony, the better, no?

Mix it Up

When was the last time you really loved—I mean loved—the cocktails coming your way at a wedding? Guests at a recent Fete wedding can honestly say they imbibed in high style.

A treat for all drinking connoisseurs in attendance, we brought in a professional mixologist from one of the city’s most acclaimed cocktail spots. These sharply-dressed bartenders used fresh, inventive ingredients to craft beverages from your personal tastes. Like your drink sweet? Bitter? Sour? These fellows made something amazing, just for you. They’d then go the extra mile of chipping out custom ice cubes for every drink, because the size and shape of your cube makes a big difference in taste.

An elegant layer on top of an already great event, this expert touch took things to a whole new level… It was as if everyone snuck by a bouncer and into the coolest bar in town.

Crème De La Crème

Every year around this time—when my colleagues rev up after their summer vacations, the kids start making new friends at school, and the weather takes on that undeniable feel of autumn—I inevitably get nostalgic. As I pulled on my first sweater of the season, I looked back at some of my favorite Fete moments through the years. My extraordinary team has pulled off some beautiful, spectacular feats since we began, and these shots show some of my favorite moments.

The Secrets of Jung’s Purse, Revealed

It must be one of the greatest jobs on earth (A close second behind mine.)… Writing a cool and current blog about amazing purses. I had a great time participating in this piece, as I am always curious about what other people take around with them.

I am pretty organized by nature, so this one was pretty easy for me.
