Fete Wedding on Style Me Pretty
Thursday, June 10th, 2010We are very excited that one of our favorite Fete weddings was featured yesterday on the wildly successful blog Style Me Pretty. This fun, dynamic couple gave us so much inspiration when developing customized ideas for their wedding. The real challenge was taking the St. Regis, a beautiful classic, beaux-arts space, and making it feel more clean, modern and sleek, our client’s personal style. Nothing says CELEBRATION like fireworks!
Tuesday, May 11th, 2010However creating a magical experience is never about a single element. For fireworks, it is about timing, the element of surprise and pairing with the right music. At this event, guests faced the ocean to watch the couple’s first dance. As it concluded, fireworks filled the sky and the Rolling Stones “Let’s Spend the Night Together” filled the beach. It was the perfect song for this crowd and was the catalyst for an incredible dance party.

Excited to See…
Thursday, May 6th, 2010I was recently emailed a link to the Eventi, a new Kimpton hotel opening in New York any day now. On their homepage, I was excited to see my book stacked on the dresser in one of their guest rooms. I guess they appreciated our choice of binder! Take a look by clicking here:

Walk This Way!
Tuesday, May 4th, 2010Better than I imagined! We created this beach path equivalent to 3 New York City blocks. Simple yet spectacular (and a bit sandy)!

A thank you to photographer Brian Dorsey.
I don’t tweet- but I do adore birds!
Wednesday, April 28th, 2010Our escort card table last weekend - we created a vignette of antique bird cages, stylized with white peacock, doves, and parrots inspired by the bride’s love of birds!

Goose Bumps
Monday, February 22nd, 2010Couples often ask me for ceremony song ideas. I am hesitant to answer this question because it is so highly personal. As a bride and groom, you should get goose bumps the moment you hear your song and only you can select something with personal meaning. If you have dreamed about hearing Pachebel’s Canon your entire life, then that is what you should process to. And if it happens to be Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog (it was for one groom), then that is what it is. Many couples have songs that they associate with falling in love with each other. These tend to be my favorite choices. So irregardless of the song’s pace, it can usually be slowed down and turned into something incredibly moving and meaningful. Here are a few songs that my former clients have chosen. And like I told you, don’t copy it, use it as inspiriation for your own selection.
David Gray – Babylon
“L-O-V-E,” Nat King Cole
“Mad Mission,” Patty Griffin
Lauryn Hill – Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You
Eva Cassidy – Songbird
“All I Want Is You”,U2
“In Your Eyes”,Peter Gabriel
“Emotionally Yours”,Bob Dylan
“Waterloo Sunset,” The Kinks
“Oh Happy Day”, Edwin Hawkins Singers
“Til There Was You”, Beatles
“Gabriel’s Oboe”, The Mission
Kissing You, Desiree
